Vodafone Idea’s Q2 Results: Losses Shrink to ₹7,175.9 Crore, Revenue Grows 1.8% YoY

Vodafone Idea’s Q2 Results

Vodafone Idea Ltd (VIL), India’s third-largest telecom company, reported financial results for the second quarter of the financial year 2025 (Q2 FY25) on November 13, 2024.

The company posted a combined net loss of ₹7,175.9 crore, down from ₹8,737.9 crore in the same period last year. However, this loss increased from the ₹6,432.1 crore reported in the previous quarter.

Financial Performance Highlights:

Revenue: Vodafone India Limited‘s revenue from operations increased by 2.02% year-on-year to ₹10,932.2 crore, up from ₹10,716.3 crore in Q2 FY24.

EBITDA: The company reported an EBITDA of ₹4,550 crore for the quarter. Excluding the impact of Ind AS 116, cash EBITDA improved to ₹2,320 crore, marking the highest level since the merger.

Average Revenue Per User (ARPU): ARPU stood at ₹166, reflecting the company’s efforts to enhance revenue per customer.

Subscriber Metrics

Total Subscribers: The total subscriber base declined to 205 million, a 2.4% sequential decrease and a 6.7% drop year-on-year. This decline is attributed to customers migrating to alternatives like state-owned BSNL following tariff hikes.

4G Subscribers: The 4G subscriber base reached 125.9 million, indicating ongoing efforts to transition users to higher-speed services.
